Editor/Author Biographies

Neriman Aral, Prof. Dr., was born in Ankara. She completed her higher education in 1983 at the Department of Child Development and Education of Hacettepe University. She gained her master’s degree in 1986 from Hacettepe University. She has two doctorate degree one of them from Ankara University (1990) and the other one from Hacettepe University (1992). She has worked in a center for the children with Cerebral Palsy in 1983-1986. She was assigned as research assistant in 1987 at the University of Ankara. She became an associate professor at Ankara University in 1995. She has assigned as professor in 2001. Prof. Dr. Neriman Aral has held many administrative positions. She was the Head of the Department of Child Development and Education in Ankara University Agriculture Faculty School of Home Economics between 1998 and 2000, Head of the Department of Child Development and Education from 2004 to 2007, Vice Principal in the School of Home Economics between 2000-2007 and Coordinator of Ankara University Children’s Science Center between 2012-2017. After establishing the Department of Child Development at Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences, in 2009, her professor title was transferred to the Department of Child Development. She was Head of the Department of Child Development between 2009 and 2017 in Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences. She has worked as a representative of the Council of Higher Education in Committee of Prime Ministry for Protection Young Ones from Harmful Publications, between 2001 and 2007. In 2011, she has made observations for three months at the University at Buffalo the State University of New York, Institute of Education Department of Learning and Teaching Early Years and Childhood as guest researcher. Prof. Dr. Neriman Aral took part in the projects supported by European Union, Tubitak and University resources. She has submitted papers in many international and national congresses and also organized the scientific congress. And she has many articles in international and national journals, many books and books chapters on the field. Professor Dr. Neriman Aral is currently a lecturer in the Department of Child Development at the Health Sciences Faculty of Ankara University and also she is the Dean of same faculty. She is married and mother of a child.
