Editor/Author Biographies

Denise A. D. Bedford is currently an Adjunct Professor, Georgetown University’s Communication Culture and Technology program; Visiting Scholar at the University of Coventry, and a Distinguished Practitioner/Virtual Fellow with the U.S. Department of State. In 2010, Dr. Bedford retired from the World Bank where she had been Senior Information Officer for 15 years. In this capacity she was responsible for information and business architecture, search architecture, enterprise taxonomies and core metadata. In 2015, she retired from her role as Goodyear Professor of Knowledge Management, Kent State University where she developed and directed a master’s level curriculum in knowledge management. Dr. Bedford has also worked for Intel Corporation, NASA, University of California Systemwide Administration, and Stanford University. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Knowledge Management and is the Editor of the new Emerald monographic series, Working Methods for Knowledge Management. Her educational background includes a B.A. triple major in Intellectual History, Russian Language, and German Language; an M.A. in Russian and East European History; an M.S. in Information Science; and a Ph.D. in Information Science with focus on Systems Analysis and Design, and Economics of Information.

Wioleta Kucharska, Ph.D. Eng., holds an Assistant Professor position at the Management Department of the Management and Economy Faculty of Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland. She is involved in multiple knowledge cultures, knowledge management, including tacit knowledge sharing scientific projects. She published many peer-reviewed studies with Wiley, Taylor & Francis, Emerald, and IGI Global. Next to scientific achievements, she also has 12 years of managerial experience.
