Editor/Author Biographies
Islam Abdelbary is an Egyptian economist, an economic researcher at the University of Plymouth, and also a lecturer of economics at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology since 2007. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth in the UK, and his BSc and MSc degrees in Economics from Alexandria University. Abdelbary’s current research focuses on Institutional Economics, Sustainability and economic development. He has published several research papers in ranked journals on topics in development reform policy in developing countries and particularly in the MENA region. Additionally, he has presented numerous working papers at international conferences. His research has been awarded several international prizes, such as the Ibn Khaldun Prize in 2018. Abdelbary also works as an independent researcher in several multi-disciplinary research projects for national and international organisations.
Sandra Haddad is an Assistant Professor in Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport - College of International Transport and Logistics. She is acting as the vice dean for postgraduate studies and research. Dr.  Haddad holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (major in marketing) and a postgraduate diploma from the School of Management - Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. She obtained her MSc in Shipping Management from the World Maritime University in Malmoe, Sweden, and her PhD in Supply Chain Management from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. Dr. Haddad was awarded the Fellowship of the British Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) in 2013, and she is a certified Higher Fiata diploma and International Road Union (IRU) instructor. Moreover, Dr. Haddad works as a professional consultant for several businesses, in addition to managing several EU and US Aid projects.
Ghada Elkady is an Assistant Professor in supply chain and logistics modelling in the College of International Transport & Logistics, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. Her research interests include both serious games and their applications in education and training, as well as simulation modelling for Retail Industry, insight and prediction. Ghada has published some researches in the field of simulation modelling, blockchain in agri-food and big data analytics in retail sector. she recently member of System Dynamics Society (US) and the UK Chapter of the System Dynamics Society. she currently reviewer in some journals and international conferences such as Journal of Transport & supply chain management and Cogent journal.
