Editor/Author Biographies
Germán Asensio obtained both his Bachelor's degree and his Master's degree in English Studies at the University of Almería (Spain), both with honorary distinctions. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Almeria (2020) on Irish writer Brian O'Nolan (1911-1966), also known as Flann O'Brien and Myles na gCopaleen, and mid-twentieth century Irish politics in his column (1940-1966). He is currently a Research Fellow at the University of Almería (Department of Philology/ English Division) and has published articles and delivered papers on O'Nolan's novels, short stories and columns. His research focuses on the field of Irish literature with a particular interest.
María Enriqueta Cortés de los Ríos is a Senior Lecturer of English Language in the Departament of Philology at the University of Almeria. Dr. Cortés obtained a licenciatura and her Ph.D. in English Philology at the University of Granada. She teaches English Language for Specific Purposes and English Language in different degrees at the University of Almería. She has published articles in both national and international journals primarily in business English and the advertising language. She is a member of the research group HUM-859.
Ángeles JordánSoriano obtained her bachelor’s in English Studies from the University of Almería in 2019 and earned her master’s in English Studies at the same university in 2020. In 2021, she obtained the Patricia Shaw Research Award granted by The Spanish Association for Anglo-American Studies (AEDEAN), thanks to which she conducted a research visit to the University of Kent. She has also been a visiting researcher at Cardiff Metropolitan University for 3 months. As a predoctoral fellow funded by the Spanish Ministry of Universities, she is currently teaching at the University of Almería in the Department of Philology and working on her Ph.D. dissertation, which examines the influence of politics in culture during the 1960s in Great Britain. Her research and publications primarily focus on artistic production during Harold Wilson’s first government (1964–1970).
