Description & Coverage
Description:

Plastic, which is utopian in the current times, has long been a major source of pollution in the ecosystem. Plastic degrades into smaller pieces which are less than 5 millimetre in size and termed as microplastic/ nano-plastic.

Micro/nano-plastic contains cocktail of chemicals that pose serious menace to environment and health. Microplastic is a young research area with many unknowns. Scientific community worldwide is facing enormous challenge in order to understand its complexity, degradation, and to find effective solutions against the further spread of microplastics/nano-plastics in the environment. There are lots of scientists doing good research on the same. However more needs to be done to find out the circular economy solution for microplastic. It is sometimes difficult to feel like one person can make a difference. But if each of us makes contribution in awareness in any means it surely multiplies the effort. We are trying to give our small contribu

tion in the form of this book entitled “Micro- and Nano-plastic Pollutions” to the scientific community.

This book introduces the readers to the growing problem of micro/nano-plastics pollution in soil system, aquarium system and aerial system. Additionally, this book provides a comprehensive, holistic analysis of micro/nano-plastics characterization, their source and fate in the ecosystem as well as their analysis and detection methods. It shall offer a comprehensive overview of plant response to micro/nano-plastics in the ecosystem as well as Physiochemical and biological alterations in soil due to micro/nano-plastic pollution. Adverse effects of micro/nano-plastics on ecosystem as well as its remediation methods will also be covered. In addition to this, this book will also cover the emergence of multi drug resistance and impact of COVID-19 in increasing micro/nano-plastic pollution. This book also offers a thorough summary of micro/nano-plastic in aquarium system, their source, fate, health hazards and their impact in maintaining the ecological balance. Micro/nano-plastic pollution due to aerial system is also focused in this book. Control measures and policies on Micro/Nano-plastics in prevention of pollution and Case studies related to micro/nano plastics shall be an integral part of this book.

This book introduces the readers to the : • Growing problem of micro/nano-plastics pollution in soil system, aquarium system and aerial system. • Comprehensive, holistic analysis of micro/nano-plastics characterization, their source and fate in the ecosystem as well as their analysis and detection methods. • Overview of plant response to micro/nano-plastics in the ecosystem as well as Physiochemical and biological alterations in soil due to micro/nano-plastic pollution. • Adverse effects of micro/nano-plastics on ecosystem as well as its remediation methods. • Emergence of multi drug resistance and impact of COVID-19 in increasing micro/nano-plastic pollution. • Summary of micro/nano-plastic in aquarium system, their source, fate, health hazards and their impact in maintaining the ecological balance. • Micro/nano-plastic pollution due to aerial system. • Control measures and policies on Micro/Nano-plastics in prevention of pollution • Case studies related to micro/nano plastics.

This book aims to be a valuable resource for environmental researchers, students, ecologists and toxicologists, as well as for policymakers and non-experts. Benefits to audience The proposed book aims to explain the potential applications of nanotechnology-based approaches in the remediation of all environmental matrices, including air, water, soil, and marine, a new benchmark reference across disciplinary, policy, and national boundaries.
