Reviews & Statements

"In a time of extreme fragmentation of ideas and methods in using ICT for development, Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks bring order and discipline for aligning public sector business processes, modern enterprise management methods and delivery of services using ICT. The book "Enterprise Architecture for Connected E-Government: Practices and Innovations" is a timely compendium of practices and experiences in the use of EA in the public sector."

– H.E. Eng. Mohammed Jamil Bin Ahmed Mulla, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is an essential tool for driving government transformation. However, adoption of EA by governments has been challenging, and there are few examples of successful use of EA at scale. I am sure that this book will help governments better understand the value of enterprise architecture, and provide them with practical guidance as they embark on their transformation journey.

– Randeep Sudan, Lead ICT Policy Specialist, The World Bank

This is an exemplary work characterized by theoretical acuity and empirical richness....would undoubtedly prove to be a tremendously valuable resource to government leaders, system architects and designers in cultivating an in-depth understanding of enterprise architecture (EA) as the core element of strategies aimed at achieving the goals of government transformation through eGovernment initiatives....an extremely noteworthy and timely contribution to the body of knowledge that will definitely go a long way in bridging the gap in current literature in terms of fully understanding the very important relationship between successful deployment of eGovernment services and the crucial role of government EA.

– Manohar K. Bhattarai Vice-Chairman High Level Commission for Information Technology Government of Nepal

This reference comprehensively tells the nature of connected government in the context of enhancing ICT as a driving force for the public administration reform. By discussing theoretical and practical innovations, best lessons and their impact on transforming from fragmented government to government-as-a-whole, the book is expected to attract authorities in making polices and strategies to actively respond to the higher demands from public management and human development as well as to overcome massive financial and economic challenges in coming period. In the case of Vietnam, the book helps us find appropriate solutions to resolve the situations of ineffective cross-agency and inter-agency collaborations, unsuitable mechanism in allocating and distributing state budget, and insufficiently shared infrastructure in nationwide.

– Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuc Director General Authority of Information Technology Application, Ministry of Information and Communication, Government of Vietnam
