Call for Chapters

Full Chapters Due: March 31, 2024

Introduction

One of the greatest challenges that humanity is facing today is to stop environmental destruction and mitigate the climate crisis. To reverse the environmental crisis and promote a sustainable shift in our economy and technology, a fundamental cultural transformation is an imperative. This transformation involves a shift in identity, moving from the self-centered "Ego" to the ecologically conscious "Eco." Achieving this shift is possible through environmental education, spanning primary, secondary, and adult learning. Indeed, scholars widely accept environmental education as an effective method for fostering personal and social growth while encouraging environmental conservation.

Objective

This book will explore the pivotal role of environmental education in reinforcing and expediting contemporary ecological transformation and delves into how it can facilitate a profound psychological connection to nature among both children and adults. Furthermore, this book examines the link between environmental education, heightened nature awareness, and the adoption of sustainable practices. It also investigates how holistic nature education can serve as a catalyst for a sustainable cultural shift. This book contributes to the research community by shedding light on how holistic nature education can play a pivotal role in catalyzing a sustainable cultural shift.

Target Audience

The book targets scholars in the field of holistic and nature education, sustainable policymakers, and educators at all levels, including primary, secondary, and university educators, as well as adult educators, particularly those involved in nature education. It is also relevant to professionals from various disciplines, including humanities and natural sciences.
